This company charged my mom $150 per month for full coverage of her 2014 Hyundai Elantra. Same coverage is $44.00 per month with my provider. When calling to cancel they charged her another $34.00 for a "prorated fee not taken up front". Total ripoff!! Shop anywhere else but here for auto insurance.

I canceled my policy and they still took out the policy amount would not recommend them to anyone filled a claim and they never reimbursed me for the out pocket expense bc they didn’t write the check core to the body shop stay away from them

My car got hit on 6/30/23 and I have not heard from this insurance company all month. Actually, the only time anybody reached out to me was on 4th of July. Who makes business calls on a holiday, I missed the call, and they left a voicemail, and I called right back. No answer. I've called sooo many times and left so many voicemails and nobody has gotten back to me. Some kid who was high out of his mind hit my car trying to go around me. I live in CA and his license is from Florida. I filed a claim with my insurance and he twisted the whole story around said I hit him. I drive a tiny car while his truck is huge. I had my 3 children in the car. His insurance assigned Serrena C**** who right away believed him instead of doing a thorough investigation. She is very hard to get a hold of as well. My dreadful experience with National General Insurance has left me feeling utterly deceived and taken advantage of. I am so upset with this company. I was hit back in June by someone they insured. I have been given the run around since then. It took me over a month to get my car in the shop. My tire was gashed by the accident and they refuse to pay for it. Saying no way it happend because of the accident so I was left without a vehicle for well over a month. Horrible company when you have a claim. My claim adjuster went on vacation while I was in a hotel and did not inform me and I had to find another person to extend the date for the hotel which caused unneeded stress. They denied a claim falsely and when I tried to file an appeal, I was not given correct information and a request for a supervisor to speak with me was not granted. I will never have homeowners insurance with this company again.

I'm a customer of National General, home and auto. The company has good rates when compared with its competitors, but their claim process is terrible. The look for ways not to pay claims. I has storm damage to my roof, evidence in hand and I had to fight tooth and nail to get my claim considered. The hired and outside adjuster to evaluate the claim, and the games they played were border line unethical. When my policy is up, I will be looking for another company.
