Ruby s Diner was established in 1980, after junior-high buddies Doug Cavanaugh and Ralph Kosmides renovated a dilapidated building on the end of Balboa Pier in Newport Beach, Calif. The 1940s-style restaurant, which was located in a former bait shop, became an immediate hit, taking in $600,000 in the first year. In the second year, sales exceeded $1 million. RecommendedRecommend the shakes! Salads and the burgers are great! They just introduced a vegetarian burger that is delicious!
I went here on Tuesday 8/14 with my mom and we got seated . Waited about 15-20 minutes for the server to get our drinks that we wanted and to take our order. A family of 5 came in got seated and they got there drinks about 5 minutes after they got seated. I think it is really bad customer service.
People are amazing! The food was amazing! I recommend 100 percent :)
This venue has been a favorite of mine for years! Our family especially enjoys the chocolate banana shakes...and I completely forgot to order mine yesterday...phooey! I guess I'm gonna have to hurry up and go back! Delicious eats! Super friendly staff! You will enjoy it!
Lunch was great loved it
Wonderful food & waiter streamed lined the menu for us, due to being cancer Patients! The cook agreed to cook what we could eat! Simply Fabulous Indeed! Thanks again Ruby’s Dinner! We will return!
Classic car show was awesome, great looking cars. Disappointed in the classic ruby burger, substituted the turkey burger which was to salty and way to much pepper. service was fast and friendly.
