Ruby s Diner was established in 1980, after junior-high buddies Doug Cavanaugh and Ralph Kosmides renovated a dilapidated building on the end of Balboa Pier in Newport Beach, Calif. The 1940s-style restaurant, which was located in a former bait shop, became an immediate hit, taking in $600,000 in the first year. In the second year, sales exceeded $1 million. We go here every year for my son birthday only bad part is they don’t do anything for birthday. 😡

We came to Ruby’s in Whittier to redeem a school award certificate. Aside from the amazing food, the service is beyond exceptional from the minute you walk in. Our waitress, Aly, was one of the best, friendliest and sweetest young ladies I have ever had the pleasure of being serviced by. My 2 children were treated with so much attentiveness and care. We will definitely be coming back again soon.
buffalo cauliflower appetizer is pretty good

I love there food and customer service at this diner! kuddosto the whole Ruby's staff..I just dont like the white older customers there...till thus day in 2018 they are racist..shm..
