Ruby s Diner was established in 1980, after junior-high buddies Doug Cavanaugh and Ralph Kosmides renovated a dilapidated building on the end of Balboa Pier in Newport Beach, Calif. The 1940s-style restaurant, which was located in a former bait shop, became an immediate hit, taking in $600,000 in the first year. In the second year, sales exceeded $1 million. Great burgers! They have great shakes! Car shows on Friday nights are fun.

Burgers and fries are delicious! It was freezing whenever the AC was on so bring a jacket!
Any Hamburger you get is a good choice they are all good . You get a nice size sundae for your birthday. Service is a little slow can do a lot better . Still gave the waitress a good tip.
Friendly servers that make you feel at ease and at home. I have eaten in numerous Ruby’s Diner branch, so far the way they make their food makes them the best. A+
