Dr. Boykin arthroscopically repaired a massive rotator cuff tear in my right shoulder. He did an excellent job. Dr. Boykin and his nurse practitioner Marc Galin have patiently and thoroughly addressed all my concerns during this process. I highly recommend them both.
I recommend Dr. Boykin. Namely I recommend him for someone in need of a labrum repair and hip osteoplasty which is what I had done.
In March 2022, I tore the MCL, meniscus, and ACL during a snow skiing accident. The ACL was torn in half. Doctor Boykin replaced the ACL in July and developed a physical therapy plan that was challenging, but achievable. In January 2023, I’ve been cleared to do everything that I normally do…well no moguls or double black diamonds until next season! PS.. I am 68 years old! Doctor Boykin looked at my lifestyle more than my age. 68 is only a number!
I've been getting gel Knee injections w/Dr. Boykin for over 5 yrs and they have given me relief from the pain of bilateral osteoarthritis in my knees. It's an in office 20 min procedure, once a wk for 3 wks, every 6 months.
Dr. Boykin performed my complicated rotator cuff surgery. He manner, humble yet extremely knowledgeable, put me at ease immediately. The surgery went perfectly. The physical therapists, working to his specifications, brought me step by step back to a functionality I hardly believed possible. I am beyond pleased, and relieved to be able to use my arm again!
I have had both hips repaired for impingements and labral tears by Dr. Boykin and both have healed beyond expectation. He is a highly skilled, knowledgeable MD and he has been very dependable over the years for quality orthopedic care.

After re-injuring a 30 year old shoulder injury in May, I met with Dr. Boykin to discuss a pretty extensive repair. I’m told that recovering from a re-injury of such an old issue can be challenging. It’s about 18 weeks after surgery now and after following Dr. Boykin‘s recommendation instructions and the instructions from my physical therapist at Benchmark Physical Therapy in Weaverville, I have full range of motion and I am working slowly to rebuild strength. Dr Boykin is an exceptional surgeon. I had a very bad tear in my rotator and bicep. He did an amazing job patching me back up. He was very professional and attentive to any concerns. I have a great range of motion and am starting to get my strength back. I can’t recommend him enough.
