Had massive tear in rotator cuff- apparently worse than expected when surgery occurred. Excellent results from the surgery. Dr Boykin is caring, listens, and was encouraging as I recovered. Office staff is caring. Wait time to be seen at appointment was short.

After a proximal humerus fracture, ORIF surgery and 10 months of PT, my range of motion was not good. Dr. Boykin diagnosed it as adhesive capsulitis. After trying non-invasive procedures he ultimately recommended Arthroscopic surgery to remove the adhesions. It was a huge success thanks to his expertise and I’m nearly back to full ROM.
I'm a surgeon as well, and this man is a wizard! He's one of the most humble yet talented physicians I've ever met. And I'm so lucky to have had him do my surgery on my rotator cuff major tear, all done with scopes! I am thrilled with my results!
Extremely professional and knowledgeable with regards to my repair. I highly recommend him to anyone considering shoulder surgery.
In early November Dr. Boykin and his staff replaced my left shoulder. All of the care that I have received from him has been excellent. I knew what to expect, the team monitored my recovery process, and just 3 months later I have excellent movement in that shoulder and it is nearly pain free. I highly recommend Dr. Boykin and Athena Health Hospital if you are thinking about a shoulder replacement.
I recently had to see Dr. Boykin, MD for labrum repair surgery. I have dislocated or subluxed for 20 years and already had a labrum repair surgery at the VA in 2009. My entire experience with Dr. Boykin (and his team) was fantastic. I was referred to Dr. Boykin by my orthopedic surgeon after the results from an MRI came back that I had completely dettached my hamstring muscle from the pelvic floor. Dr. Boykin saw me one day and did the surgery the next. His care was exceptional and I got the results I wanted! I would easily recommend Dr Boykin for orthopedic care!
