Booked a hotel through Priceline at the **** *** ** ******* ****. Within the first 5 minutes I saw and killed a Cockroache. I took it down to the front desk and told them they could have it back and I want my $ back & was leaving. Was told I had to go through Priceline.. I reserved mini-van using Priceline for a trip my family and I were taking. *** Rent a Car was the company they used. Called the *** location the day before we arrived to ensure everything was okay. They said it was. We arrived and paid for the mini-van (highest rate) that I had reserved. Walked out and there is no mini-van. They assigned me a Dodge Journey. I booked a “courtyard view” at the *****in ***** ******and the view was of brick walls with some covered AC units down below. Priceline would not refund the extra $30-50 I spent for the “courtyard view” instead of a regular room because they already paid the hotel and kept citing their protocol. I asked them to ask the hotel for a photo of the view and they would see that “courtyard view” was false advertising, but they would not look into it further.
I was going on a conference trip to Africa and started to feel sick and have pains after getting off my first flight hours before getting on my next one. Five weeks ago my husband and I booked a hotel that was a a reasonable distance from where we work, it was also pet friendly and it had even had a small kitchen. We sold our house so we had nowhere to live for several weeks. I booked a car with priceline for Christmas thinking I would be charged at pick up. Turns out I was charged immediately, I called them to cancel, they said car booking is nontransferable, non refundable. It was impossible to know I would be charged right away. This is very hard for a consumer to know at purchase point and the company should make an effort to inform the consumer before the purchase is made. My daughter made an online rental car reservation through Priceline and at that time, made a 75% payment with the remainder due upon picking up the car. Later in the evening, she called Priceline back, just to double check that there were other hidden fees that she was not told about and they told her no. She took a 1200 mile flight and went to the Thrifty car rental counter to pick up the vehicle and was told that the balance due was the remaining amount plus $500. I cancel a trip which included hotel & car they canceled hotel but not car I asked gave them my ***** cancel # and price line cancel # this was canceled within 24 hours per their web site. But My credit car got charged for ***** but not hotel. I was told my phone even those i had a cancel # from ***** where I canceled it it would take 10 days to confirm. So beware the 24 hours cancel with no charge is not true on the contract in fine print it will say something else per Priceline.
Absolutely terrible business. I will never use this company again. Priceline took my money. They also didn't rectify my situation. Extremely disappointed.
