Our 12-1/2 year old Maltese, Marco, was diagnosed with cancer by our primary vet and she recommended taking him to PVSEC. There are no words that can explain your emotions when you hear cancer. My first visit to see Dr. Urie was unbelievable. I couldn't believe that I actually left that appointment calmer than when I went in. She was thorough, explained everything to me in detail, and understood my anxiety. Then we were sent to the surgery department, Dr. Saile sat with us and prepared us for what was going to happen and wha... read more

My dog has been treated at PVSEC 3 times (unfortunately) and twice has required overnights in their critical care unit. One might complain about their expensive services but they truly are the best. They have been able to successfully diagnose and treat our dog who has a rare autoimmune disease called Eosinophilic Bronchopneumopathy. No other vet around has been able to successfully diagnose her or answer why our pretty girl is always sick. We were so elated with how healthy she has been since her hospitalization at PVSEC.

As far as the personnel and staff at PVS&EC go there is no comparison to any other veterinary clinic or hospital in the western Pa area they are the very best and we're lucky to have them. They were always extremely kind and very compassionate to me when I was there. My cat got the finest care anyone could ask for while being treated there. They are worth five stars but for my reasons which I will elaborate on I will only give two stars for my experience there. My cat was di...Continue Reading

You cannot find a more compassionate group of doctors and support people than at PVSEC. My cat went into heart failure and I was able to get him in very quickly to see Dr. Sweeny. Unfortunately I had to put my cat to sleep but they were all so caring and understanding.
