I highly recommend Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center. We live in Bedford, Pa. and have been taking our dog Apollo there since June, Dr. Mikoloski is treating him. She is wonderful with Apollo and is doing her best to help Apollo. The staff is also great, everyone has been so nice, friendly and helpful! I am so happy we found this place.

PVSC is a great caring place. I am so glad that we have a competent place to take our pets. Over the years they have treated my very sick pets

I have nothing but high praise for the doctors that we have had there. I really feel terrible for the people that have had such bad experiences. what I cannot understand is why PVSEC doesn't do anything about this. I brought my poor baby in a few years ago when another dog bit his eye out, and they could not have been nicer and they kept us updated on his progress. We didn't get to see him until the next day but he was fine. Dr. Keller is the best. Our dog has had a few surgeries and yes they are very expensive and lucky for... read more

Unfortunately, we have had a horrible experience. We had a 10 o'clock appointment. It is now 2:40 and someone just came to tell us our dog is next. What? Our ultrasound was scheduled for 10 AM, where has my dog (who is claustrophobic and never caged) been all this time? Crated, I'm sure. Had I been told sooner, she could have been with me instead of caged and terrified. The excuse for the delay? Emergency patients. I called for this appointment 6 weeks ago. I was told this was the soonest they could see me. I begged for an e... read more

The folks at PVSEC went above and beyond for my little baby chihuahua and I. I want to thank everyone at the center for going the extra mile. A special and heartfelt thanks to the Neurology department for their special care and attention to my baby. 5 star service by 5 star people. - Anna Pinalez, Penny's mom

Can not say enough good things about Dr. Compton and the team that took good care of my Bella ... We had an appointment with Dr. Compton to see if she had an elongated soft palate and she did so we had surgery the same day and my baby came home the next day everyone we encountered was great... have seen alot of people complain about the $$$ but i thought the $$$ was great was expecting it to cost a lot more then it did.

Before I get into specifics on my experience at PVSEC, I will say this first and foremost; 1). I don't like the fact that you have to pay crazy amounts of money upfront. Some people are very low income or simply don't have thousands laying around. Although they still very much love their pet, and want the best care for them, some people just cannot afford these amounts upfront before services are even rendered. There's a finance department, use this department to work out so...Continue Reading
