When you're at an emergency veterinary facility you're already stressed and you don't need to face attitude and incompetence, vet was extremely rigid on the alleged rules I made the mistake of telling them that the cat was my girlfriend's. They wouldn't treat the cat unless I got my girlfriend on the phone which fortunately I was able to do. I would have been totally screwed if she'd been at work and inaccessible. The treatment strategy was to demand my commitment to all possible diagnostics instead of treating sequentially ... read more

WORSE EXPERIENCE - Our dog had a strange cough and looked like he had something stuck in his throat. Otherwise he was fine, eat his food and was active. We took him to ******************* Animal ********************* on a Saturday night. After the first examination they scared us with words like esophagitis and told us he had stomach issues (never mentioned ************). Scared we agreed to do X-rays and they tried to convince us to do full blood tests (I refused without a proper diagnosis). They came back he had enlarged s... read more

We looked very carefully before taking our Aussiedoodle to be spayed but obviously didn't look close enough. To say our experience was horrible would be an understatement. During the prep, they mutilated her chest (maybe dirty and/or old shaving blades?) As a result, our puppy suffered deep cuts and unbelievable suffering from their mistake. The result was weeks of pain, medication (including their overmedicating her), inability to eat - just absolutely MISERABLE. When asked for consideration for their botched surgery we wer... read more

do not recommend this place at all! They don't care about anything but money. I have been trying to get my questions and concerns addressed in regard to my dog's surgery that ************ did. I spoke with the medical director and informed her that I received my dog's records 2 sets and they are not consistent to one another. and documentation in those records are not correct or accurate. I also explained the negligence of the doctor who did the surgery. She stated she would review the records and call me back. She also fail... read more

We agree with upset reviews here. We don't really make noise but we feel that the safety concerns about this horrific hospital needed to be shared. For pets who have a chance to survive, please take them somewhere else. This is literally the first review I have ever written. My wife is a healthcare worker. We took our dog in who is in compensatory DKA, the MA almost immediately checked our dog's blood sugar 595 mg/dL on arrival. We were initially pleased that they took her in quickly! Then the disservice started to trickle as... read more

My main complaint is not with the particular VCA location both of my dogs died at, as it is with *** corporate which is very difficult to locate. This business prays on pet owners and the compassion we have for our pets. It is one of the biggest rackets going. Loosing two dogs in 2 months cost my family over **** $ no questions asked. The same stuff my pets went through on their final visits would not have cost nearly the the same in other parts of the country. VCA has their rates set per according to average incomes in the ... read more

Where do I begin? Max is a german sheppherd we rescued a few years ago. He was unkept and uneutered. We decided to immediately take him in for neuter surgery with Dr Arthur Scherr at VCA. They performed the surgery but the vet mentioned Max only had one testicle, the other was not found. Even though there was a sack for it. 2 months after surgery, Max started having digestive difficulties, started with heavy diarrhea, on and off, constipation, straining and blood in stool. Other vets would check him and attribute the issues ... read more

On 11/11/2022, I brought my boyfriend's cat Savannah into the Janesville, WI, VCA Veterinary Emergency Service for possible poisoning. The veterinarian that I was working with gave me two options for care at the time; I chose the life-saving option, which was to take Savannah to a different hospital that could meet her needs. I was so upset and didn't know what the right plan of action was and began to call my boyfriend (the cat owner) but could not get ahold of him. I went to the front desk and asked them if I could leave t... read more
