I purchased a Bosch Battery at this store in Hicksville. I assumed the correct battery was installed. When I inspected the paperwork the next day, I discovered that they installed another battery that they claimed was just as good. Regardless of their claim, they should not have installed a different battery without gaining my acceptance. I went back the next day to complain. So this has to be broken down into parts so that I can be as clear as possible in warning other people who might find themselves in a similar situation that I was in. To set things up, my check engine light came on and my vehicle started a slight shudder which got progressively worse as I searched for a mechanic to run a diagnostic under the hood. Wishing I could rate them zero stars. My car way brought in for a seemingly simple repair, but 3.5 MONTHS later, they still have my car. Long story short, they botched the initial repair, had to order a new engine (they wanted to avoid the insurance claim). It's been delayed for parts, tools, equipment breakdowns, short staffing, the flue, tools in storage lockers, and other jobs. Both the Burien and Federal Way Washington locations have been heavily involved in this issue.
AVOID PEP BOYS AT ALL COST!!! Wasted almost 4 hours here (Burien, WA location) with a scheduled appointment and service never was even started!!! This store is run by very unprofessional people with no fear of consequences. I booked an appointment at 8am (for 3pm) today. I showed up at 2:30 and was told they "had gotten slammed". Beware of this bunch of crooks in Orange Beach Alabama!!! I made an appointment online for a high mileage full synthetic oil change they offered fore $54.99 with the coupon. I dropped the car off and went on my way. Calling 3 hours later I told them I might be there after they closed and asked them to charge it top my card and lock the keys in the trunk and I would pick it up after they closed. I placed an online order for store pickup. I was charged a higher price when I checked out (I thought I had paid online already). The store said to call the online orders customer service number. The customer service person said I have to go back to the store. The online ordering system is ridiculous and obviously Pep Boys doesn't care.
had to give one star but they deserve none whatsoever DO NOT EVER GO TO LYFT IN MARLOW HEIGHTS, MD TO PICK UP A CAR FOR EXPRESS DRIVING. I MADE A RESERVATION FOR 1PM AND DIDN'T GET A CAR UNTIL 3PM. Pepboys really is robbing money from its customer. In my case, I bought two tires from pepboys website which was on promotion but after I checked out, the price was increased and I did not notice until after I went into store and has the tires installed. I have called back a few times and requested for partial refund of the difference between promo price (which was on sale and the reason I bought them) and the full price they charged me. Customer service is beyond expectations. They are very informative, patient, understanding and apologetic when the simplest (no big deal mistakes were made)and made up for it 10 fold.
