The short version. I have spent the last several weeks after receiving a $100 "Rewards Card" trying to find out precisely what it can be used for. Seriously. I had my wife (a former attorney) convert the legalese description into English, and it all sounded great. I emailed Customer Service and called the store tho verify that the card would cover filters and oil for my four vehicles. Great. Over charged for extra fees not needed and was told verbally my car needs struts and tires alignments and that wasn't the problem And after I paid 1,500 my car still had shaking I notice my paper work siad brakes and rotors needed and simple service .I was told a lie about my car service and had to pay for my car to be fixed and I also needed coils and I just can't believe how much I paid for wrong auto service .

Very unprofessional took damn near 3 months to replace my engine. Very poor customer service skills. I will never get anything done at pep boys .71 S Semoran Blvd, Orlando, FL 32807 very ghetto place.

I like to make sure I take the time to give something back to the community. Reading some of these posting made me laugh, not because of the information was funny but because of similar situations. A shop nearby, service that took longer than it should, poor customer service, pricing that didn’t lineup, the lack of communication, and etc.. etc..etc.. This was the Pep Boys Service Center at 1006 New Britain Ave, West Hartford, CT: Took my Wrangler in to have brake work done, and while there, wanted them to run a diagnostic so they could do all the work to get it fixed. During the diagnostic, some idiot there decided my custom wiring to my HEADLIGHTS was a reason not to work on the ENGINE OVERHEATING, which is what I was concerned with. Was sent by Avis car sales to this location to have my tires change so they were paid for upfront By Avis.. all I had to do wasGet them put on when I first went they had a long wait told me to come back tomorrow at eight in the morning and they could fit me in right away only to find out that the technician working on my car doesn’t show up till 1130 on top of that the Covid 19 is going around And it’s my only vehicle I can’t do a drop off.so I sat around for two hours then I made the decision to ask them how much longer and... read more

Dishonest company. Ladies beware! Took my 2011 Dodge Caliber to Pep Boys on Breckenridge Lane in Louisville, KY after hearing a rattle in my front end. After dropping off the car, received a phone call from them telling me I needed a n new control arm and front end alignment (of course) totaling almost $500. If I did it that day I would get a 10% discount. I turned it down of course and took it to a retired family mechanic. He told me my car does not any have a control arm it has a rack and pinion. On top of them scheduling an appointment for me when the technicians were on lunch and being super rude, they charged me $70 to replace my brake fluid or it would “corrode my engine”. Come to find out after I picked up my car and paid that what they told me about the brake fluid is completely and utterly false. Avoid this place like the plague.

I serviced my Toyota Camry with Pep Boys Carson near Ikea store, after the engine check light went off. First I asked for a diagnosis, but I shortly realized that I was going to be ripped off. I had a "comprehensive" radiator package for which I paid $1,180, after imaginary discounts and disgruntling negotiations. After the intervention and "repairs", it turned out that the mechanics forgot to re-connect the horn wires.
