6 month surprise bill after labor & delivery in an in-network hospital. 2 very short visits by a pediatrician resulting in a $709 invoice. No notice that she was an out-of-network provider or that we'd be paying this out of pocket. (Not that you're in a state to consider the financial charge associated with every rep who walks into your postpartum room...) Please don’t have an automated system call and tell ME to hold for the next available person or for ME to call another number. I’m not going to do it. Sadly, you will never see the rest of your money because you sent me to collections. I don’t play that game. It was so close to being paid off too! Oh well! The other thing is, I don’t even remember this particular dr coming to see my child anyway. There has to be a better way of identifying for whom I am paying.
My Baby has born 6 months ago, healthy Baby. Before delivery work I paid All fees and bill (My Physicians/Obs, My Pediatric Dr., My anesthetist all for a C-Section. My Pediatric Dr. has check up my baby case before-After delivery. All Hospital documents(I have all copies) have the signature and Pediatric name. Never trust this group! Never! My son was born in net work hospital, and had to be in NICU for one night. The hospital told us they are in network and we even payed the hospital for the NICU bill, but this group still keep billing us!
We were scheduled for a tour of the NICU at Randalls Children hospital in Portland because we were told there was a small chance our baby might need the NICU at birth (birth went fine and we did not actually need anything from the NICU). We later get a bill from this company, Pediatrix, for $566 for a short few minute talk with Dr Sean Sweeney, that we were under the assumption was part of this tour and was not by our choice. My twins were born at an In Network hospital and Pediatrix were contracted to care for my twins while there. No one notified us that they recently became out of network and they did not get our consent to treat the babies, but still sent a bill for thousands of dollars after the fact. I've had such a terrible experience with this company. My daughter was born at an IN-NETWORK hospital, and shortly after birth needed life-saving emergency care in the NICU. I never authorized any out of network doctors or was informed any doctors were out of network. The hospital checks our insurance at every visit. Fast forward, I get a bill saying Humana refused to cover Pediatrix's bill, due to the way it was billed. My insurance company and I have been trying to correct their incorrect billing since May! Every phone call there is a different excuse on the delay. My insurance company has sent multiple documents showing their mistake and they have ignored them. Worst customer service and incompetent billing!
