The only reason this company gets a 1 is because 0 isn’t an option. They have received over double in payment of the amount allowable for services provided from our primary insurance. Now they are not willing to honor the amount allowable in the contract with our secondary insurance. Long story short they been paid over 10k for a bill that after insurance was only 4.5k. We have been going back and forth with this group and our insurance company over our daughters newborn exam. It is the same story " have your insurance company call us and do a 3 way call so we can fix this". Then when we do they are unable to give the insurance company a provider line and say they will have to get back with them but never do. Because I am older than 35, and pregnant, I have to see a specialist. Apparently my doctor uses this company to bill his patients when they have out of pocket expense. I received a bill due 9/22 for 288.66. I paid 88.66 9/15 with the intentions to pay the balance of within the next month. I didn't care to set up a payment plan but this company has called me twice asking to set up a payment plan and then charges you 5.00 each month it's not paid off. This group seems to be running a newborn hearing screen swindle. I just received a $315 bill for a hearing screen done on my newborn in the hospital. I never met the provider who ordered the test. It looks like she isn't part of my insurance (of course), and isn't part of my baby's pediatric group. This mega group -Pediatrix - waited 3 months to send me this exorbitant bill for what was presented as a mandatory test. This is the worst kind of thievery in the health care industry. I have now received the 4th bill for since my son's birth 16 months ago. Each time, I contact my insurance company who tells me your group sent the bill to the wrong claims address. Each time, I call you and provide the correct claims address to your representative. Yet, here I am, AGAIN with a FOURTH bill. This is ridiculous.
They had an address I don't know for months and sent my bill to collections without ever trying to contact me. After having that removed they spent months trying to bill me for something my insurance covered 100% and just needed the bill from them. Pediatrix accidentally sent double bills for baby A instead of sending one for B and one for A. By the time they understood what I was telling them (months) it was too late to rebill Aetna correctly.
