Utterly horrible company - they set my small 1 person s-corp up to pay unemployment insurance when I did not have to (they told me I did). They submitted it incorrectly (as a non-owner) so that the unemployment office would accept it (it would have been rejected if submitted as owner). When years of this went by and I realized I should not be paying, they took no responsibility whatsoever. They said it was my fault for not knowing what they were up to. Paychex has been horrible to work with, in general. The only person who has ever been helpful is our representative, and he is not able to provide support for payroll or other features we pay for. From payroll to our FSA account being held open after numerous attempts to cancel it, it's just not worth the hassle to "work" with Paychex. The so called debit card they provide for accessing FSA funds never worked in one case. My wife’s employer used Paychex for a couple of months. They totally screwed up her declared earnings on her W2. The IRS says we owe $20K in taxes on earnings she never made. After going back and forth for a year, we now have to hire a tax attorney to defend ourselves! This company is incompetent!! Stay clear. Because of their incompetence, we have to spend many hours and $ to defend ourselves. They suck! Hopefully they will go bankrupt.

I have been back and forth with Paychex since May 2020 trying to resolve an issue with an irs form not being filed for 2nd quarter which does not make sense since Paychex began cutting my employee's check since month before therefore would be solely responsible for doing so. They agreed weeks before hand that when I signed a contract with them that the taxes would be handled by them and they were not. Our company used Paychex when we first opened our business in 2018 and before 2019 we had already moved to ***. We had to email a person at Paychex our hours and they would always forget to pay some one and it was very frustrating. Emails to speak to manager were never answered even the sales person wouldn't pick up our phone call. They also made us pay $400.00 for a contract with them knowing that their service was horrible and that if some one paid the contract fee they might be hesitant to leave. Good luck trying to use the Cares act to cash out and close your 401k. I've been trying to close my paychex 401k account since April. They gave me a partial payment and keep charging me monthly even though I've done all the cancellation paperwork and have called in several times requesting a refund for the 92/month service fee! It's impossible to get them to cancel and stop taking autopay! I've wasted so much time trying to cancel and still not resolved!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH! This is the absolute worst company to deal with! From day one, the rep entered our business info incorrectly. To this day the IRS has an incorrect address to our business because of Paychex and they refuse to correct it. They have debited 2019 yearly payroll taxes from our account not once, not twice but 3 times. We are out several thousand dollars due to their incompetence. Paychex made an error resulting in a $200+ exposure to our company with one of our employees. We paid the employee out of our bank account after Paychex said they'd file amended returns with the IRS to get the money back for us; they did and we did. Paychex said they had fixed the problem but they hadn't, and when that was discovered months later, we had another $2000+ exposure to our company with the same employee. Horrible, company needs better trained staff across the board. Been using company for a few years but now they can’t seem to get anything correct across 4 different pay periods and multiple managers. Pretty sad as there are only 2 employees on the payroll!!
