I made the mistake to open a 401K plan with this company last December. The sales person that came to my office mislead me on the details of the plan. They started to take unauthorized drafts from my bank account. After I realized what was been done, I called several times to request the plan to be terminated. They did not process the plan termination, but instead started to draft unknown fees from the balance of the amounts contributed to the 401K account. Where do I start. They get an A+ rating? This company are a complete mess. So many errors, every payroll is a joke, first they sent our payrolls (10 stores) to random places, then they delivered w2s to about three different addresses as they did not update our corporate address in all databases. Final straw, we switched to monitoring live checks on our own account as there is NO access to what they have in their system as to live checks.....and first payroll comes with no corp sig...oooops forgot to do that. The mistakes and lack of professionalism is unbelievable. Mistakes include THIS COMPANY SENDING ME THE W-2'S FOR SIX EMPLOYEES FROM A DIFFERENT COMPANY…INCLUDING THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS, HOME ADDRESSES, INCOMES AND MORE! I consider this an unforgivable mistake. The information was sent unsecured to my email. Poor job helping us understand the payroll process as new clients & small business owners. After a year of using the automated debit system, we switched to manual since our new employee needed to be paid weekly. They debited our account for an UNAUTHORIZED payroll. They were also charging me an unbelievably high transaction fee at $58 PER payroll PER employee. Talk about highway robbery! We have two employees that work remotely, out of state. Paychex did not file the appropriate state taxes on our behalf. Upon receiving a statement for taxes due plus interest, we paid the back taxes but simply asked that Paychex cover the interest (approx. $300...not a lot, but it's the principal). Their first response was that we never provided documentation for the state in question (we did, and proved it). DO NOT work with this company. I was referred to them by an accountant, as I set up a new Scorp. I have never experienced such awful service, and it has taken a month to cancel all of my services, and even now, still have charges being pulled from my accounts. No one returns emails, I cannot reach people by phone. When a service is canceled, and refunds are promised, that should be the end of the process; however, to have bills still coming in the mail, money still being taken out of accounts, and to not being taken out of t... read more

We were looking to switch our payroll handling about 2 years ago and this was a company we interviewed. We went another direction but they will not leave us alone! I have asked them for almost 2 years to stop calling us. They continue to call, misrepresent themselves as being our actual payroll vendor when they are not. As an employer, this has been the worst experience ever! The sales people made promises that the operations team has made little effort to keep. My primary reasons for switching have been my primary sources for headaches. No single person can ever make a decision. Reaction time is slow to requests. No communication between departments. Payroll has not been correct for any pay period during the first two months of service. PayChex now tops my list for worst companies I have ever dealt with.
