our cat cardi went into labor and we had to bring her to ocean state veterinary specialists. upon her visit we were told cardi was not going to live if we did not pay $3,500. we did not have that kind of money. my fiance was historical all night cause she was afraid she was losing her cat. Come this morning miss cardi is walking around and eating. I feel as if this place takes advantage of people to make money.
I would like to share my family's dealings with Ocean State veterinary hospital to warn others. On Thursday July 9, 2020 my foster kitty Tippy was acting off. His balance was off and he showed his first ever seizure like episode. An appt was set for him for the next day at 1pm to see the vet. Mass RI vet ER was called and consulted about his condition and assured my sister and I that this was not an emergency it was fine to await treatment. RecommendedMy cat was having difficulty breathing and I took him to my regular vet. After taking an x-ray, I was immediately sent me to OSV, plus she sent over his records and the x-ray and advised them I was on my way. When I arrived and called to let them know I was there, immediately they came out and got him to start to work on him. We took our pug, Penelope, there last night at the advice of our vet. She’d been sick off and on for a few weeks, our vet did everything he could but they couldn’t find the reason she wasn’t improving and sent us to OSVS for an ultrasound. She spent the night, very undernourished from all she’d been through. I was told I’d get a call this morning around 11. Great staff and very responsive. They took very good care of my baby Tango. It was the 2nd time I took him there due to a collapse trachea and they where wonderful with him. I would never hesitate to take him to them.
I take my rabbit and tortoise to Dr Spellman. My dog had lymphoma and the team here including Dr Kessler gave us 38 more months.
Horrible experience with this place. let's just say they killed my cat and I will never bring another animal here ever again and been warning everyone I know and work with not to take their pets here. where do I begin I orginally took my cat to a vet in north providence they told me he had a urinary blockage, they gave him meds and gave me meds to take home because I wanted to find somewhere affordable or see if I could get a credit card to pay for procedure.
