I have had mortgages most of my adult life and had no real problems until now. Twice I have made a typo when submitting my payment through my bill pay. Instead of $786.38 I sent 768.38. The payment was made well before the due date. The never said a word, but did not apply the payment. I noticed my error when paying my next payment, so I called them. We have been charged 3 late fees in the last 11 months since our mortgage was "sold" to New Rez. We have called each time to confirm the payment was sent via our bank Auto-payment and have even adjusted the payment date with our bank to ensure adequate delivery time. We have been told that they would review the late payments yet never got any removal of late fees. I would not recommend new Rez for a loan. They bought my original loan and have been very difficult to work with. I have been trying to get my taxes paid and every time I reach out to them I get very little help and no straight answers. It’s unbelievable they want your money and that’s it. No help at all.

My loan was with Ditech and sold to NewRez. For about a week after this happened the main 866 number and NewRez would just hang up on you when you called in. This was a problem because my windstorm insurance was due and we could not reach anyone. The documents were faxed blindly to NewRez with nothing more than hope. I sent 2 messages using the web help interface, which I still have yet to receive a response on. Finally we got through to the insurance department. NewRez was supposed to take the money I send them each month to pay my taxes (It's called Escrow!), my taxes are now 4 months overdue! When I called NewRez a month after the taxes were due they said would be mailed to cover the expenses, NO check was sent! Now that my taxes are 4 months overdue and my name has been placed in the newspaper for nonpayment, NewRez has said ANOTHER (Which they said they sent 3 months earlier.) check has been sent to cover the taxes and penalties. I closed on a property on 10/21/19. My loan was immediately transferred to NewRez. I received three pieces of correspondence from NewRez... (1) an 11/19 a "Welcome to NewRez!" letter, (2) an 11/20 letter confirming the online payment I had set up and scheduled for first payment on 12/1, and (3) an 11/22 escrow account disclosure. On 12/2, I logged onto my bank account and NewRez to confirm that the payment I scheduled was properly made. Awful-they changed my mortgage insurance and I had no clue til I was ready to pay off my house and when I requested a payoff of $806 that was showing on the website. I got a bill for $5882 as they changed my homeowner's insurance form paying $1403 to some crazy company I have never heard of and now it's $2889. Then, they said when they acquired my load from Dietect that my escrow must have feel off so I owe for taxes that they paid but shouldn't have. I, like many people, have financed and refinanced properties in the past. Presently, I have a mortgage with New Rez and was sent a letter asking if I would want to refinance with them at a lower interest rate. Being quite substantial, my monthly new payment was attractive to me. I originally started working with a mortgage rep, and it turned out not to be a particularly pleasant experience. Worst company to deal with - they may have better rates but the time spent trying to resolve issues is inconceivable. I have been dealing with a fraudulent issue since April. They are refusing to do anything and only state that the check was cashed. I KNOW THAT - but it wasn’t cashed by me. They are doing nothing and closing the file. I am out 847.00....... save yourself time and headaches and walk away from this coMpany
