I have been a customer for over five years and out the blue my card account was cancelled with over 2000.00 on it and I have to be issued a check. It is a scam and you can never talk to anyone that will be help accountable. No one knew answers as to why my account was closed for no reason. Completely terrible company, don’t care about customer dealing with my payroll check or other bills. I would not recommend this place to anyone

Purchased a netspend card today at Food Lion. When I tried to activate card it would not let me, and they told me they could mail me paperwork which would take 7-10 business days. Then they said they could convert to gift card, so I let them. When I tried to make a purchase on line the said the card was declined. When I call netspend they said you can not use a giftcard on line for purchases. Now I have to wait 7-10 business days for a refund check.Thank you netspend for nothing but 2 hours wasted. Terrible company. They advertise as a prepaid card then when you call to activate the card you find out it is a debit card, they charged me $20.00 because I did not use it within 3 months. The card has an expiration date which is a joke because if you don't activate it within 30 days the card is no good, which I did not know. So I called waited for 30 min to talk to someone, then they send me a new card and when I went to activate it, a $40.00 gift card, it now has only $10.00 on it. I had money taken out of my account without permission. Was told it was an error and money would be credited back to my account. Never did this happen and while calling the people were nasty and rude. Laughing at me and making fun of the situation. I got upset I got just as nasty and they would continue to laugh and say that they never took out the money even when it showed clearly it was. I canceled my account with a total loss of $103.20. Absolute scum scam company, first of all falsely advertised as prepaid gift card. Second of all they refuse to let me use any of the money and set my account as "limited" or check. Initially I thought I could go about using it as some cards claim to limit it but usually are still fully capable cards. Netspend on the other hand didn't you do anything. This is an absolute scam with Indian tech support as customer service. DO NOT USE THIS AT ALL COSTS.

this company continues to steal consumer's money, I bought a card for my son's birthday so he could simply buy a game online, but they want all of his personal information mailed in before he can use it, I will not let them have the information and attempted to get a refund, the business I bought I from told me to call them so I did then they told my to go back to the store I bought it from then their manager said no I can only deal with netspend so I called again and they said they would send me a check for the amount I loa... read more

On Thursday July 19, 2018 there was a fraudulent charge that came through my account and Net spend caught the charge. They deactivate the card, charge me $20.00 just to send out a replace and they told me that the card would be delivered to my house by Tuesday July 24, 2018. They also said that they would send me the tracking#, which they didn't. I had to call them to get that information. The rep on the phone clearly didn't know what she was doing or talking about. I have had a very negative experience with netspend. I was trying to add my fiancé as a secondary card holder to my account. This card was being utilized as the card we were going to use as the saving for the wedding. They asked for three pieces of documentation. One of which is a address verification. This company will steal your money. I had purchased an iphone online that turned out to be icloud locked. I requested my money back from the company and they refused so I filed a dispute. The manager of this online company ended up refunding me for the phone and the dispute was not needed. I purchased another phone off another well known auction site that turned to out to be stolen.
