My relatively new truck was stolen from my driveway overnight. I had accidentally left it unlocked and had been keeping a spare key inside the console. A mistake I won't easily make again. So when some opportunistic thieves came through the neighborhood to steal from cars, they took off with the whole vehicle. Thanks to Onstar it was quickly recovered the next morning. My wife was involved in an accident at a store parking lot in November, 2018. The Nationwide insuree who hit my wife's Mercedes fled the scene. My wife took some pictures of his truck on top of my wife's car along with his license plate number before he ran off. My wife then called the police and got the case number. We then contacted the Nationwide and filed a claim. After 3 weeks of not hearing from them, they finally called and said the claim was denied DUE to lack of evidence! I have been a Nationwide customer for years. Every year I have auto-renewed my policy out of laziness, despite realizing I was overpaying for my insurance. On October 17th, I received notice that my policy would auto-renew and that they would be direct debiting the cost from my account as usual. Today I looked at my bank account and realized they had not withdrawn my payment this month or last. I logged online and all of my documents were gone. Nationwide, I cancelled my policy well before the last day of my policy was ending because you guys gave me a quote for a POTENTIAL car I was getting from Carvana (THAT I NEVER BOUGHT OR DROVE) I wanted a QUOTE and to add coverage but when I saw it was too much and I did not get the car I asked you guys immediately within the same couple of days to take that car off the policy that Carvana did not process my loan and I never physically had the car. Really disappointed with this company. I have been with Nationwide for 26 years and never had any problems with them until now. I had called my local agent to change my policy( to lower it) and I thought everything was alright. On November 28, 2018 I had checked to see if my car/renters insurance has been paid. My husband and I originated our Nationwide Life policies back in 1998. Two flexible life insurance policies for and two other term life policies. The total is just shy of a million dollar in coverage combined. Over this past holiday weekend, I received a notice on my flexible life policy stating it had lapsed. No warning, no prior notice, just that it had lapsed. The policy premium was being paid from the Cash Surrender Value in the policy. Apparently, that ran out. Very surprised to see an A+ rating. Had Nationwide pet insurance for my DOG. The dog underwent emergency surgery to remove his spleen for internal bleeding which came very fast due to a horrible blood cancer. EMERGENCY surgery. When I signed on for insurance, I knew the payout amounts were listed and openly available. Terrible service, communication,and claims handeling. My adjuster refuses to call me back, her manager promised me she would get the issue resolved and call me to confirm , that never happened either. Meanwhile , my wife 36 weeks pregnant and I have not had a place to live since our water danage claim because they want to argue that we don't need the same 4 bed 2 bath house we have now, instead they offer hotels. nationwide is definitely not your side. if i were shopping for an insurance company i would look else where.There agents are always too busy to talk to clients and were no help at all when filing a claim. Im with ******** now and would recommend it to anyone
