Disgusting business practice. Nationwide insurance is only on the side of those that they insure. Was hit by a Nationwide customer who then proceeded to drive away from the scene of the accident. After numerous phone calls to my claim handler Doug H**** I realized that nobody was going to assist me in any way. Doug H*** would NOT return my phone calls. Horrible company to do business with. PET INSURANCE with them is a SCAM!!! Please be aware they will not cover anyting. Gave them a deposit so they could underwrite a policy, my dog became ill and theywould not cover it. First they said they needed all his medical records and I would need to get that. Dont they do that in underwriting ??? Let me start off by saying WORST COMPANY EVER!!!! They are "on your side" until your need to file a claim.I was in a car accident that was not my fault. My car was totaled and now nationwide is refusing to honor their statement of " nationwide is on your side " They will not offer a reasonable settlement amount. I have spent $30,000+ with this company on insurance between all my polices in the last 7 years. The have done nothing but cause more stress to an even delicate situation. So you guys tell me how this makes any sense. I had a policy with nationwide. I canceled with them June 4th when my statement was due. I was told I wouldn’t owe anything. Here I am a month later and get a notice that I owe $20.03. I call and they state that for a year I never provided proof that I took a driving class in high school so that discount was removed. Keep in mind that the office never asked for this paperwork and they never stated that it was needed. The call center for nationwide states that nobody did anything ... read more

We had ****** and later Nationwide for all our insurance needs. Last year we had 2 claims, one was water leak at a rental property we own and the other auto where police report showed that the other side was 100% at fault. When I reported the water leak, the company told me not to wait and contact a company to take care of the damage. I contacted a company my plumber recommended and signed a contract with them. Nationwide's Auto Policy Insured admitted liability, and Nationwide admitted its Insured's liability yet the Claims Associated, **** ******** requested that I make a claim through my insurance. *******asserted limited coverage yet all estimates were well below the damages. When I refused to make a claim through my insured, phone calls and correspondence stopped. You insureds be careful; this company is sketchy.

I used Nationwide for years because I didn't know any better. My family had a policy with them. In the few cases I have accidents, it was incredibly hard to get a hold of a living person on the phone. As well, there customer support is the worst. When buying a house I tried to get a quote from them. It took them way too long and our house was in jeopardy of not closing. I had to get another insurance company to do it, and they did it in a day. As well, I received a notice that my payment was rejected from Nationwide. It's th... read more

I was with the ************ insurance agency in ***** OH. (Auto and home) the owner retired and sold the company to **** agency (Nationwide) *********** OH. So the insurance that I'd had through the old agency was no longer with the new one it was only Nationwide. They did not contact me and let me know so my old insurance carrier canceled me I had to shop around for new insurance and they did not tell me that I could have kept the old insurance and not shop around and what they quoted me was ridiculous through Nationwide. I love nationwide I’ve had them for years.. but this recent issue with them has me feeling pretty lost. I submitted my claim two months ago and have had terrible communication, customer service, and management is just terrible. My experience has been so bad this time around I’ve changed all my insurance.
