Twenty years ago, this European-style restaurant was filled with the warehouse workers from the area. Today, The Monte is still packed, but the clientèle has more white collars than blue. The copper bar is 50 feet long; it is worth the visit just to see it. The menu is big on American fare, with burgers, salads and deli-style sandwiches. Their wings are THE best! Every thing else is great, too! Love the old school atmosphere and service.
It really depends on the service ... there is one bartender that’s outstanding and on that may need diversity training. The one that need training is an older gentleman with a young guys hair cut. I like this bar but it’s fair obviously.
What can you say about the Monte Carlo that hasn’t been said before. Dined there for 40 years with a consistently great experience. Historically classic bar, great food and service it’s a must dining experience.
Love the Monte Carlo! One of the most beautiful restaurants in the cities, by far.
