Twenty years ago, this European-style restaurant was filled with the warehouse workers from the area. Today, The Monte is still packed, but the clientèle has more white collars than blue. The copper bar is 50 feet long; it is worth the visit just to see it. The menu is big on American fare, with burgers, salads and deli-style sandwiches. We have been coming to Monte for over 21 years. It was our first date spot and is our NYE spot every year. The location is iconic and the food is always spot on. Panko fried shrimp, whiskey peppercorn filet, and the chicken wings... yummy.
