Twenty years ago, this European-style restaurant was filled with the warehouse workers from the area. Today, The Monte is still packed, but the clientèle has more white collars than blue. The copper bar is 50 feet long; it is worth the visit just to see it. The menu is big on American fare, with burgers, salads and deli-style sandwiches. Ritzy but not necesarilly good service I found this to be a very high class resturaunt and bar. The service however was sort of stuck up. The food is about average for the high prices they charge.

It’s a singular Minneapolis experience, and easily one of my top 5 bars in the world. My tip : go for a late lunch or a late dinner avoid the crowed times
