Twenty years ago, this European-style restaurant was filled with the warehouse workers from the area. Today, The Monte is still packed, but the clientèle has more white collars than blue. The copper bar is 50 feet long; it is worth the visit just to see it. The menu is big on American fare, with burgers, salads and deli-style sandwiches. The Monte Carlo never disappoints when you introduce someone new to it. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is inviting and the staff is professional. I can't wait until spring to enjoy the garden patio.
