Twenty years ago, this European-style restaurant was filled with the warehouse workers from the area. Today, The Monte is still packed, but the clientèle has more white collars than blue. The copper bar is 50 feet long; it is worth the visit just to see it. The menu is big on American fare, with burgers, salads and deli-style sandwiches. It was a great lunch, and they make great egg salad. My lovely wife was with me. We had a nice time having lunch yesterday. Atmosphere was wonderful.
Service even at the bar was superb! Appetizer platter was delicious! The ambiance is reminiscent of its history with a modern flair.
The Sunday brunch is phenomenal. Jan, our waitperson was so welcoming and kind. She really was attentive! She made us feel right at home!
