Twenty years ago, this European-style restaurant was filled with the warehouse workers from the area. Today, The Monte is still packed, but the clientèle has more white collars than blue. The copper bar is 50 feet long; it is worth the visit just to see it. The menu is big on American fare, with burgers, salads and deli-style sandwiches. Drinks where amazing, especially the ice cream drinks. My husband had the meatloaf sandwich and I had the club. Tasted amazing and the side Cesar was great. The patio was a nice touch for a perfect night. Most definitely coming back here again!
The atmosphere is awesome, the wait staff are so attentive and the food is amazing. What else can I say. I want the recipe for the chicken wings, they are so delicious! My husband and I shared the wings, a steak sandwich which was also very good and we each got ceasar salads. The salad was very fresh as well. They offer valet parking so no need to worry about being downtown. They have a nice little patio area for outdoor dining but we stayed indoors because it's very cozy and welcoming.
