Our former trash company sold out to Republic and that's when the poor service started. Our city has now contracted with Republic for about four months now and they are still falling short on their promises, making excuse after excuse as to why they aren't regularly picking up trash. They have even informed our city that they will no longer pickup recycling which is a service that is provided in the contract every citizen signs to begin a utility account in our city. We Republic Services for 16 years and shame on us for not changing the service. They have repeatedly added 'extra' charges to our account, and have raised our prices by $20.00 at one time. I have to wait a long time to talk to a representative to get these charges/increases explained. We finally closed our service, and I asked if they were going to pick up our trash and recycle bins. They said that someone would call to pick them up. I was told I had to pay 3 months in advance, and I would get refunded for an $80 overpayment... read more

We had santek and when Republic services took over we had many missed pickups. I don't understand the lack of services. Republic services is a joke at customer service. The animals would get in it and we as senior citizens had to pick it up and hope they would come the next day. When we called them they just told us they would come the next scheduled day. This company is the worst. The customer service is the worst. RS have missed scheduled pick up for months in a ************* Advisor *******" says all things she can't help with which is totally unacceptable. I want my trash to be picked on time and be compensated in the process. My scheduled pick up is on a Tuesday which is religiously missed...call Republic is says they will recover next day which turns into next week...then they missed the "recovery" pick up & scheduled day...this company is what it services...TRASH!!!

Provider did not pick up trash and did not provide credit for missed pick **** We gave republic 30-day notice as per our contract, in which we cancelled the services. The cancellation was to be effective November 12th. We mailed and emailed the notice as well as followed up with a phone call to make sure the notice was received. it was confirmed. we were still billed for full November in advance. Republic acquired our sanitation service. When we decided to leave their service shortly thereafter, after having a contract with our previous service for 34 years, we were accessed a $60 can removal fee. We did not have an opportunity to see Republics policies prior to the acquisition. My husband wanted to bring the cans to their facility, but was told that option was not available.

A ONE STAR RATING IS TOO GENEROUS Republic has been repeatedly overcharging my account for at least the past six months. I have worked with them numerous times trying to fix the issue. They have repeatedly assured me the overcharges are removed and the problem is solved, however I continue to be overcharged by $35 per week. My Account Manager is absolutely no help. Republic is very MISLEADING about their charges. I rented a dumpster for a month, paid up front for delivery and 1 pickup but was still billed for an additional pickup fee a the end that I was told was paid when I contacted them and paid my balance at cancellation. Charges were outrageous to begin with and made even worse by there vague explanations. I had cans delivered on 11/15 and called every day for two weeks reporting a missed pick up. I spoke with a supervisor on the last call and told them to pick up the cans as I will find a new trash service. They actually came on 12/1 to take the trash, left the cans, and left trash all over our street and multiple neighbors' yards. Such a terrible experience and poor customer service.
