This has got to be the WORST company to do business with. I had their service for 6 years while living in *********************. Within that time frame these people would miss the rubbish pickup CONSTANTLY... if it snowed an inch, they would not cuime, if it was a holiday... they would not come, if the driver broke a finger nail, they would not come... if someone called in sick... it upset the entire company and they would not come. I recently started new service for trash and recycling pickup at my new home in Sherrills Ford, NC, on Lake Norman. I pre-paid for 3 months of service. Over the first 2 months, they picked up my trash one time. Every week I filed a missed pickup report on their website and nothing ever happened. I called and complained and eventually the local manager called me and assured me they would credit my account for 3 months. We are forced to use this company. Unfortunately,this company does not communicate. It is very, very hard to get through to them. Even if you get through to them on the phone (after a minimum of an hour on hold) they tell you what you want to hear, but they do not tell you what you NEED to hear, which is probably,we do not have the resources to deal with problems, or resolve issues. Today I received a final letter of demand from Republic for $127.05 for services not rendered. Also Republic advises that they reserve the right to legal action and reporting derogatory credit information. This letter is to a 14+ year customer of Allied / Republic Services (since July 2005). During this period the quarterly waste service went from $67.29 to $199.90 (last payment on January 10, 2020. During this period all payments totaling $5,204.10 were on made on time. Republic Waste has completely dropped the ball during the transition to Carolina Waste! I called on July 2nd and was told that my trash would be picked up by Republic on July 3rd, again on July 9th, then my bin would be picked up for good on July 10th. I put my bin full of trash out as normal last week, and it was never picked up...despite the fact that I've already paid for the service. I'm cancelling my account with Republic Services. They had missed a total of 3 weeks worth of trash. The missed pickup truck that comes around kept going past the wrong house and, instead of using common sense to see we had our trash can out, he took a picture of my neighbor's house and marked it as we didn't have our can out. This company is an absolute joke!! During our scheduled service this past week we witnessed the truck "eating" our residential container. When the truck picked it up with its mechanical arm, the container fell in the truck. We tried to stop the driver and she told us to call for a new one. Didn't even say she was sorry, in fact, she was rude about. So of course we called and the person on the phone told us a new one would be delivered on Thursday. I cancelled my personal account on 3/31/2020 with Republic Services waste management and was due a refund of approximately $1300 due to over payment. I was informed the refund would take about two weeks to process and be receive by me. I called back around 4/14/20 and was informed the refund takes 6 weeks. I called again in May 2020 and told it would take about 6 to 8 weeks, possibly ten due to COVID.
