Absolute worst! the charges just continue to go up but the service is the same. I just canceled my service and they are charging me to pickup their own cans and will not allow me to drop them off to not have to pay. So they charged me to drop them off and to pick them up. It's a ripoff and should not be allowed. If I paid to have them dropped off why should I have to pay to have them picked up. I am not allowed to charge them rent for the week plus that it will take for them to pick up the cans once I do not have service. Th... read more

Poor Customer Service, Poor Billing Practices. We have automatic payment set up and for the most part it works. However, in Florida (Hernando County) this company has been given free-range to be the only trash service company allowed to perform curbside pickup. As a result, the company as a whole acts in ways contrary to the standards that would be required of other public services entities. This is the most unprofessional, uncaring, & unorganized service I’ve ever paid for! We haven’t had our trash picked up but twice time since we’ve started the service a month ago. We’re new to the Buckleigh Drive neighborhood. On our first pick up, we were falsely accused of not having our trash out on time. The investigation concluded it was the wrong address. We had our cans out by 6am that morning. The company gave us a hassle and didn’t pick up the trash for about three days! The second service pick up resulted in the tr... read more

They tell one price one day next day raise it by 200.00 dollars

I have had a very bad experience with Republic Services. We started an account with them to do recycling pickup, so that we could recycle some plastics that were not accepted for drop off. We got our bin right away and the first week it was picked up promptly, but it was never picked up again. I called 5 weeks in a row requesting that it be picked up, to no avail. The 5th week they told us to put out all of our recycling from Christmas out in boxes or anything, even if it didn't fit in a bin and then they'd pick it all up. B... read more

I have tried to stop my service with Republic Services on several occasions. I have written, sent a letter, tried to correspond via Republic's web site and talked with several of Republic's "customer service" representatives. I was finally told that the only way I could cancel my service was to pay for an additional quarter in full -- then Republic might refund me some of it -- even though I am not receiving any service at all. 19 years with Republic. We had always paid month to month. They changed their system to quarterly and we were billed upwards of $90/mo till it went over $120/mo at the end of 2019. Their accounting error was that the system was billing us the quarterly rate per month. Our mistake was that we just paid the bill on time. Didn't catch our attention till it went over $100 and then we were like, why are we paying $100/mo for trash pickup??? We have been in a year long battle with them and they are a horrific company. I wish I could figure out how to append my original complaint. For goodness sakes with this company! I have gotten the same apologies from these people, and now since posting here back in December, received the email to reach out to their customer service person, with the promise to look into our situation. Well, I guess I should be grateful that after trying to cancel a service with them for 7 months for an address where we no longer lived, they are finally zeroing out the account. Horrible company. I called 12/18 to pre-pay for the entire year of 2021. I put it on my credit card. The printout two days later showed a credit of $176.10. I went into my online account and deleted my auto-pay information and removed auto-pay. Today I found that they still went and took $68 from my bank account for the quarterly payment on 1/4/21. I don't know if they have a terrible computer program that doesn't recognize that if a credit on account, there's no need to take additional money OR if they do this deliberately ... read more
