Republic quit servicing my area on 3/31. OK, I get that, but they are now holding my payment and telling me it will take 6 to 7 weeks because I sent them a check because I didn't use a credit. That's crazy because they have to pay fees on credit cards and it reduces their profits. BTW they have had the money since 3/18 and it is now 4/29 and they don't return the money until the customer requests it. They are making a lot of money floating the credits due to their customers. This is wrong!

Missed about a half dozen yard waste pickups a while back so I cancelled both garbage and yard waste pickup services. They have limited hours when phone is answered and website is poor. When I did get someone on phone they acknowledged that I was cancelling at the end of my service month. Now they are trying to charge me for an extra month of service plus can pickup fees for both services ( $60! ). When did I agree to paying those fees ? Never ! I was pleased with Republic while we had them for garbage pick up over many years but recently (invoice generated March 25 arrived by mail on the 28th for May, June, July service) they raised their rate yet again by over 20% forcing me to verify they were competitive in our market and I found other significantly less and promptly made the switch. Trash pick up service was fairly priced and OK and went on for several months until we asked to cancel our service because our city was making a change and going to start providing trash service. Then the shenanigans began. They tried to charge us past the date we said we wanted to end our service. Then the tried to charge us a late fee as we waited for an adjusted bill amount. They charged us for our neighbors trash and for taking his container AND charged me a disconnection fee, a late fee for not being able to pay it, and another month of service, while in the middle of a pandemic and me waiting for my Disability to go through and most of all we haven't even had service with them for 4 months! They even cussed me on the phone when I tried to explain to them, which they aggressively ignored!

I canceled trash pickup with Republic at the end of a billing cycle as my father had moved from the house. I was told there was a $30 fee to pick up the bin. I said I lived about 3 miles away from there facility in Inver Grove Heights and could bring it to them to avoid the fee. I was told "because of CoVid" I could not do that, they would pick up the bin. First let me say that Republic’s service was as expected. The only misses over 13+ years were due to adverse weather. Their billing practices however are a different matter. Between 2010 and 2012 I was introduced to something called billing creep whereby in small monthly increments the bill doubled to $400 per month for an 8 cu. Yd. Bin. When contacted, my rep. appeared to be as surprised as I was and for a new 3 year contract (which self-renews with no warning) the price went down to $115 per month. the price was increasing every billing cycle, now it's $300 each quarter ( per week one lift for 90 Gal trash can ). Plan to quit this company and find another one, yeah, need to pay around $50 trash can removal fee in the end, I know, this is a poorly managed company, it's a failure. My wife called customer service, she waited very long (4 hours) and they kept on transferring your phone to somebody else so that you may eventually lose patient and give up. I wosh i could leave zero stars. I have been asking for a recycling bin for weeks now. They keep giving me different dates of when it will be delivered and i still havent gotten one after multiple phone call. I was told that it will be expedited and its been 3 weeks since i last called. How hard can it be to drop off a recycling bin.
