I mowed my lawn on a Tuesday for Republic to pick up on Wednesday. It rained Wednesday morning and when Republic came to pick up my yard waste they broke a bag in half and just left the mess all over the sidewalk and road. I recently changed to paper bags because of the new mandate. I called customer service Wed, Thursday , and Friday and was told each day that someone would come to pick up the mess. They never did. This company had overcharged us for several years. When our homeowners finally made a formal complaint on behalf of our entire neighborhood, we were issued a refund of $770. However, it’s been 3 months and we have yet to receive it. I’ve been calling non stop, and keep getting the same answer...a supervisor will get in touch with you. This is HANDS DOWN the worst service I've ever received from any company ever, let alone one that I have no choice in using. I am a customer who is renting in a city that has contracted with this company to collect our trash and recycling. They habitually miss my garbage, and pick up every other can on the block, literally. Every other month I have to call about a missed pickup, and then they continuously miss the makeup, and the makeup after that and after that, untill I'm back to my regular pickup day. We first moving back to Texas "Azle" we were recommended Republic Services as the preferred waste removal company. At first they were great, total cost per month was under $40. As each year has gone by, their rates have continued to climb. Now they are billing customers in my area over $70 to empty on 95 gallon container weekly. Besides billing for the pickup, their next highest FEE is Total Fuel/Environmental Recovery Fee which is almost as much as the service itself. We were slow to change, but change we did. I recently made the decision to cancel my service and switch providers. I contacted local Colorado customer service and requested the cancellation. My account was cancelled and my containers were picked up. I was at the end of my billing cycle and my next cycle's bill had been posted. I specifically asked the representative what I needed to do to make sure my next bill was not paid on my auto pay. In addition to a decline in customer service, the price has also continued to rise. In 2019 we were paying $115 quarterly for trash, recycling, and yard waste removal once per week. Now, in 2021, we're paying $175 quarterly and it seems like they're skipping pickups of one of our cans at least once a month. Holiday weeks is almost a guarantee they'll never get around to our house, and other ones are seemingly just at random. I had to make a total of eleven calls to them and was disconnected several times after waiting to speak with someone for approx. 20 minutes and also while speaking to someone. They consistently missed pickups (either waste or recycle) and raised price every quarter. They even charge to delivery their own containers and then charge you again to pick them up. After talking with them for the 11th time since March 17, 2021, they told me I still owed a container pickup charge of $80.32 (which is 90% of my qtrly. bill}. Once I com... read more

This company appears to be taking smaller disposal companies and turning them into telephone connections for people who work in their homes. They have no connection to the people who they serve and continue to charge for services long after services have been discontinued. Please take this warning - be very cautious about what is signed and remind yourself even if this is what your contract says you pay it does not mean this is what your actual bill will be for services.

I was an employee of Republic services from June 2018 to August 2020 within that time a free totter was delivered to my home as an employee. Upon my termination to the company the total was not removed. I never signed a contract with Republic services and the totals should have been removed upon my leaving the company. When leaving the company I chose a different trash company that was lower. They never came and picked up the waste container.
