I have been in a lot of medical facilities over the past 12 years, and Medical City Dallas has been by far the best one yet. Everyone's bed side manner was just outstanding. I had knee surgery on Wednesday Oct 12, and from the pre-op check in a few days before until I was released and sent home was awesome! A special thank you to the nurses in recovery on 3rd floor in building A and day surgery nurses on 2nd floor....just excellent care.
I feel that the ER wait times are excessive. The staff is definitely overwhelmed.They definitely don't have new or enough wheelchairs for patients. The waits once you've in the rooms are long. The staff is definitely kind & accomdating but this ER needs a massive overhaul. It needs triple the bed space, better triage, a pain management specialists on call 24/7, & much better parking situation. Otherwise, the staff is great, the doctors & nurses know what they're doing. The charge nurse in the ER right now does not know how to effectively communicate and denied our request to have another evaluation done (second opinion) from another physican when the shifts were changing. I feel that this establishment has violated our patient rights.
Today I celebrated my 10 year transplant anniversary. I received a call at about 5:00 a.m. on 10/10/2006 from Medical City Dallas Hospital. I will never forget that moment as long as I live. I still remember the doctors, nurses, and financial staff who worked with me during the process. I want to say thank you to everyone in the Transplant Center.
