Dr Elkus was recommended to me by a wonderful PT, he is excellent! Everything from first visit to follow up was great. He’s caring, attentive and an excellent surgeon. His staff is great too.
I liked how he wasn't quick to operate, we tried 3 gel injections first, that didn't work for me. I then went in a few months later and told him I was ready. He was so great to explain the procedure, and what he would do, step by step. I felt like I knew exactly what to expect with the procedure and the recovery. His staff is amazing! Dr Elkus has done both of my knee replacements! His and his staffs care before during and after my surgery was excellent and I recommend highly recommend them! He also taken care of several family members and we all love him and the office staff! They treat you like family and I believe they genuinely care about me and taking care of me!

Dr. Elkus gave me a second opinion about having hip replacement surgery. He took the time to explain the pros and cons which helped me to decide. He is extremely knowledgeable and addressed all of my concerns. I am so pleased with the results of my surgery.
I went to see Dr Elkus for evaluation of left knee pain. I was examined by Dr Elkus and found to need knee replacement. I had been having some mild pain in my right hip and I mentioned this to Dr Elkus on my last visit prior to surgery the next weerk. Dr Elkus ordered an mri of the right hip. I felt like I had been shifting my weight on that side trying to help the pain on my left knee but Dr Elkus felt the mri needed. I had the test and prepared for the upcoming surgery. I WOULD RECOMEND HIM TO EVERYONE, I HAD A GREAT EXPERINCE WITH MY HIP REPLACEMENT.
I recently had total knee replacement surgery by Dr. Elkus. Before the surgery he and his staff were very informative, eased my fears, and the surgery was a success. He was very caring and gave me post surgery instructions for home and outpatient therapy. His staff has answered my questions since surgery and been very supportive. When it is time for the other knee replacement, I will used Dr. Elkus. Also, my other doctors in Birmingham, have highly recommended Dr. Elkus, so he is well known in the medical community.
I just visited my doctor (Dr Mark Elkus) 2 weeks after a full hip replacement surgery. I believe he is the best orthopaedic surgeon in the south east! I am walking with out a Walker only 2 weeks after the surgery! I have had many comments including from Dr Elkus saying I am walking so well they cant tell which hip I had replaced!
