Dr. Elkus has done 2 hip replacements for me. He is a very gifted surgeon and has given me the gift of a pain free life. He is a caring communicator and spent time showing me how to navigate life with hip precautions, especially in the area of personal exercise. With both surgeries he set up Home Health Care and Physical Therapy in the home for two weeks which made life easier right after surgery. Dr. Elkus completed knee replacements on me in 2019 and 2022. He is through, professional and maintains clean waiting, exam and bath rooms. His staff are professional and timely in responding to my request over the 5 year period. I was also, very pleased with ST. Vincen't Orthopedic Unit, during my post-op stays.
17 years after Dr. Elkus replaced my knees, and still doing great. Saw regarding hip pain. Highly recommend.

I had waited a long time to have my knee replaced, but finally pushed the button. Dr. Elkus and his entire staff were so kind and helpful, and The OrthoHealth center at St. Vincent's in Birmingham was wonderful, as well, and we were in and out in about 6 hours. I have to mention that Dr. Elkus has had the same staff in his office for decades, which reflects well on his personality. They run a tight but friendly ship. Madison, the P.A., is a great addition to the team. I am up and around and very satisfied with my experience.
I have used Dr Elkus for many years and feel he is a gifted orthopedic doctor. He and his staff have always given me the best care. Each staff member is friendly and it's obvious they enjoy serving people. Dr Marks is proactive in caring for his patients. He is easy to talk to and wants your problems to be corrected so you can return to your normal lifestyle. I highly recommend him for your orthopedic needs.
