Dr Elkus did an emergency hip replacement due to blood supply had been cut off to my right hip and the joint was necrotic. I have had no problems despite the shape the hip was in prior to surgery. Dr Elkus sent me to Lakeshore for a few days then home for out pt PT/OT. I am doing well and looking forward to a left knee replacement in a few months after I am completely recovered from my recent surgery. I would recommend Dr Elkus to anyone facing orthopedic surgery.
I broke my hip. The emergency room was busy and after they knew I had a broken hip they left me alone - waiting for Dr Elkus.. When he arrived he realized I had been poorly treated and he got the staff on the ball. My whole experience was that Dr Elkus was on top of everything. Easy bedside manner and was a great communicator!
Dr Elkus did shoulder surgery for me. Old age and a lifetime of hard work. He repaired several problems from a torn bicep to a rotator cuff tear. I had been in pain,weakness in that arm and limited range of motion about 2 years. He and his staff are the best of the best. 6 weeks post up I'm pain free. PT will soon return me to normal function (if not better). GREAT experience start to finish. Dr Elkus is also just a "nice guy". What more do you need.
Dr. Elkus performed an outpatient hip replacement at St Vincent Hospital. I was amazed I was able to walk out of the hospital. He arranged for excellent home health and physical therapy. Two weeks after the surgery I walked unassisted into his office to have the staples and stiches removed. For any orthopedic surgery I will definitely be back. Thank you Dr Elkus for the great job and care.
Dr, Elkus has done knee replacements on both of my knees. He explained the procedure, was very detail oriented - went out of his way to make sure that I was as comfortable as possible in the hospital & at home. I highly recommend him and his staff. Excellent!

Dr elkus is a great doctor. I had been misdiagnosed and sent to him for hip replacements. He diagnosed my pain as coming from back and sent me to Nesbit pain and Associates. They confirmed his diagnosis and performed MILD Procedure on my back. After suffering for a very long time I am doing great. Highly recommend this doctor
Eight years ago Dr. Mark Elkus replaced both of my knees in same day. I have had no negative issues in the eight years. The scars are barely visible. I have recommended Dr. Elkus to an impressive number of people seeking knee replacements. None have ever complained. All have had great success and thanked me for the recommendation. If I could go back and start over, I would not have my knees replaced unless Dr. Elkus did it.
