I WOULD RECOMEND HIM TO EVERYONE, I HAD A GREAT EXPERINCE WITH MY HIP REPLACEMENT.
I recently had total knee replacement surgery by Dr. Elkus. Before the surgery he and his staff were very informative, eased my fears, and the surgery was a success. He was very caring and gave me post surgery instructions for home and outpatient therapy. His staff has answered my questions since surgery and been very supportive. When it is time for the other knee replacement, I will used Dr. Elkus. Also, my other doctors in Birmingham, have highly recommended Dr. Elkus, so he is well known in the medical community.
I just visited my doctor (Dr Mark Elkus) 2 weeks after a full hip replacement surgery. I believe he is the best orthopaedic surgeon in the south east! I am walking with out a Walker only 2 weeks after the surgery! I have had many comments including from Dr Elkus saying I am walking so well they cant tell which hip I had replaced! Dr. Elkus has performed Right and Left Hip Replacements, Left knee replacement and handled a Fractured Pelvis and Sacrum on my husband....he is the best and cares a lot for his patients and family members. Highly recommend!!!!
Tremendous visit - as always - with Dr. Elkus and his staff. His staff is the icing on the cake, to me. Whenever I recommend Dr. Elkus, and several of my friends have used him, I always conclude by telling them that he as ZERO turnover in his staff for all the years I have been going to see him. Dr. Elkus is an outstanding surgeon who shows a high level of care and compassion to his patients. He made sure to discuss all options (I already knew the only option was replacement) and provided all documentation covering the replacement. He also worked me into his schedule quickly as I had been dealing with this issue for a couple of years. I had a complete hip arthoplasty from Dr. Elkus in July, 2022. As with my total knee replacement in 2017, he gave me much printed material with drawings! I was encouraged to call the office with any questions, which I did, and received clear explanations or information. Dr. Elkus has a carefully planned surgical protocol which brings the best results. Dr. Elkus performed outstanding total knee replacement surgery in May, 2022. Recovery has been trouble free and I am able to complete so many tasks that previously were impossible or very painful to accomplish. Dr. Elkus is a highly capable surgeon and a master at joint replacement. Additionally, his office staff members are consistently helpful and are always pleasant. This entire process has been positive with an excellent outcome. I am very fortunate to have had Dr. Elkus complete this knee replacement surgery.
Excellent pre-care and text-book surgery. Patient is doing great with easy recovery & no infection! Spent one night only in hospital. Patient is 80 year old male.
