I have had both knees replaced by Dr. Elkus and I would not go anywhere else for my orthopedic care. I was amazed the first surgery with my right knee after having several injections for my chronic knee pain, Dr. Elkus never pushed me to get the replacement, just gave me a beautiful smile and said you just let me know when you are ready and when I was ready all I had to do was show up with my equipment he furnished at his office and he did the rest. The staff members were efficient, courteous, and friendly. Dr. Elkus was very thorough in his examination and took the time to answer all my questions. I have recommended Dr. Elkus to many of my friends and all have been very pleased with their experience. Dr. Elkus and his team truly care about their patients.
Dr. Elkus had performed surgery on both of my shoulders and I honestly couldn't ask for a better surgeon. He truly listens to what you have going on and wants to do everything possible to help. I highly recommend seeing him if you have any issues.
Dr Elkus replaced my left knee in 2011. He also treated my rt knee when it started wearing out. I received injections for several years. Then when I was ready he replaced my rt knee in 2024. I wish I hadn't waited so long. Dr Elkus is very good at what he does and is very thorough in what he does. From the first meeting, treatment and follow-up after surgery. He has a great staff too. Dr. Elkus recently completed total knee replacement on my second knee. First one was done end of October 2024. I could not be happier with him, his staff, and support through both of these surgeries. Dr. Elkus along with his staff took time to explain the process, answer questions, and make themselves available for me as I went through both of these procedures. Dr. Elkus and his staff were extremely concerned about my overall health. Dr. Elkus did everything he could to ensure that my recovery from total knee replacement would be successful and as quick as possible. Included in my program of recovery were several weeks of PT prior to surgery, home health PT for 2 weeks after surgery, and 6 more weeks of PT. Always efficient. Takes adequate time to review tests, X-rays, etc. Answers all my questions. My experience over 9 years and two knee surgeries is that his work has been excellent. Also, his staff is always friendly and helpful. Could not be more pleased with this group.
Dr Elkus is very professional and will explain what is wrong. He will also give you the choice to try therapy before surgery which I benefited from after the surgery making the recovery less time.
