Went to the MMC ER Sunday evening with my stomach killing me I thought, it hurt so bad. Got in the ER and was checked it, put in a treatment room almost immediately, now come the bad part, they checked me out, me done a CT Scan and determined I had a bowl obstruction, next came the worst, tube in my nose and into my stomach, didn't care much for that, but it worked. My little boy had a MRI yesterday. Everyone was so nice and professional. They made all of us feel comfortable. They made sure his favorite show was on (Mickey Mouse Club House)as he drifted off to sleep in my arms. They made shur they did whatever they could to make him feel as comfortable and relaxed. Everything was ok until they made me leave I have a hour drive home. What hospital makes u leave......hr is going to have open heart surgery. Now I wish we went to Lewiston. They wouldn't make me leave. I'm not impressed
28 hour stay for spinal stenosis. Constantly checking up on me and my well being. Coffee 2 hours old so they asked me to wait for a fresh pot just for me :) Room service prompt and food good. I almost didn't want to leave. Great group of people in short term stay and I am sure throughout! Thank you!
The doctors could have cared less. I actually had to kick the attending out because he was arguing with me and making things worse. 8 hours of a complete water of time. I'm still bad today and can't walk more than a few feet. It took 5 hours of arguing to finally get a brain CT. And that only happened because of a great nurse case manager that argued my case. The nurses were great. The 3 doctors need to go flip hamburgers. This is not my first time I have had to fight for treatment, was for my son a year ago. I will never re... read more
Very clean and spacious, but it seemed that a lot of staff weren't doing What they were supposed to be doing... A lot of talk about online shopping, and generally seemed understaffed.
stay isn't finished. Problems with admitting. Making patient think they were in error but I arrived at 1 when I was told to didn't get to room till 330. Food has been pretty good. But kitchen forgets items on trays such as beverages and silverware. One night I get 2 spoons and knife, no fork. Next morning no fork but 2 knives and 2 spoons. Always a soup spoon but I don't order soup. Billion dollar hospital and don't have tissues.
I checked out of Maine Med yesterday after emergency open heart surgery . I had an extended stay, and I don't think I was alone for 20 minutes at a time for 10 days. For the first few days after surgery I was never alone or unsupported . The care at this facility has got to be the best in the country! World class surgeons and nurses saved my life, and I will be forever grateful. God Bless them all.
My one month old grandson was just released from MMC today due to a staph infection. Very rare for an infant to have this..did I mention he was born in this hospital. While I was there two days ago. I witnessed the housekeeping in his room. The cleaning lady came in and cleaned the entire room with ONE rag. Dragging germs from one thing to another including the sink and then onto the keyboard of the nurses computer in the room!!! Something has got to be done about this procedure.
