I have a Home Warranty program in Washington DC and when I was having plumbing issues, I contacted them and they sent over a technician from this company. The technician completed the work and gave me one quote, however, refused to work through the Home Warranty program that sent them to me in the first place insisting that I pay the entire bill myself and then seek reimbursement from the Home Warranty IF they even covered the work he already did. Something must have changed. Based on previous positive interactions with this company, I agreed to the $75 trip charge expecting a fair flat rate for a basic dishwasher install. Imagine my shock that the "Flat Fee" was over $500! So, save your time and money and call another company that will not try to gouge you or handcuff you with a trip charge. Even after paying their $75 "Handcuff Charge" , I saved over $200 by calling another plumbing company who would give me an estimate over the phone.
On 7 July 2020, Magnolia technician "Reggie" arrived at my house at 2:55pm and left at 3:55pm. During that hour he replaced a defective Variable Speed Blower Motor and Module on a Carrier heating/cooling air handler. The bill was $1,600. When I asked what was the cost of the parts, he said he did not know and that I did not need to know because company policy is only to bill for the completed job. He assessed the issue with my air conditioning unit and provided me with options for addressing the problem, including tips for things I could do myself to save costs on the repair. Carlos R arrived as scheduled and provided outstanding service on my two air conditioning units. One of the units has a history of coolant leaks, and Carlos explained my options. He thoroughly completed all of the maintenance work on the units and did not rush. I ask a lot of questions and he patiently explained everything I wanted to know. When I called to schedule the appointment, the office was prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. They notified me when Carlos was on his way.
I’ve been using Magnolia Plumbing at my residence since I moved in almost 16 years ago. I’ve always had great service and purchase an annual contract for maintenance visits and savings on repairs. My last two visits have been with Tan who is very thorough and suggested smaller repairs to extend the life of my units rather than replace the whole units prematurely.
They did fine, It was a routine annual AC check. Carlos R. showed up on time and did a thorough job. No issues here
