Located along the Lockport section of the Erie Canal, this amazing underground boat ride is unique. Using a custom-built flat-bottom boat, visitors go on a half-mile trip through a man-made hydraulic raceway cut out of solid rock, the work of 19th-century genius Birdsill Holly— the man who gave the world the fire hydrant and zoned steam heat. Accompanied by a guide and trained operators, the 1 1/4-hour ride is thrilling and perfectly safe.

Had a great time yesterday. Anthony our tour guide was pleasant, informative, and very funny. Highly recommend.
Antony was an amazing tour guide he knew his stuff! This was a great place to go on a date. I went in at 4:13pm to reserve for the last tour which was at 4:30pm and had no problems

I went on the tour in September, 2015. There was no trouble making a reservation, and our tour guide was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable, and seemed to really enjoy what he was doing. I wish that I could remember what his name was. I have recommended taking the tour to many people since, and would definitely like to go again someday.
It was a great way to spend the day. Learned a great deal of the history of the Erie canal. Alexander was a great tour guide with a sense of humor.
I didn't know what to expect when my friend & I made reservations for the tour. I was pleased we went. Sara our guide was very knowledgeable and funny. Learned things about the caves and its surrounding history I did not know.She mentioned more than once that our questions were great and always had an answer for us. Was very patient & friendly with the younger kids that were in our group. Great job Sara !!!!
