Located along the Lockport section of the Erie Canal, this amazing underground boat ride is unique. Using a custom-built flat-bottom boat, visitors go on a half-mile trip through a man-made hydraulic raceway cut out of solid rock, the work of 19th-century genius Birdsill Holly— the man who gave the world the fire hydrant and zoned steam heat. Accompanied by a guide and trained operators, the 1 1/4-hour ride is thrilling and perfectly safe.

It was a fun tour, our tour guide Alexander was very knowledgeable.
Finally was able to take the tour and we find out we know our guide! Thank you Tiegan for an informative and fun tour, great job!!
What a great experience and loved the tour guide. She was friendly, fun and knew her history. She let us know the best place to take pictures and asked frequently if we had questions and was able to answer all of them. I wish I could remember her name so I could say thanks. Our tour was Sept 1 at 11 am. So whoever was working that group thanks :)

I enjoyed hearing about the history of that part of the canal. The caves tour was fun and definitely more of an experience than I had hoped for. The guide was engaging and knowledgable. I didn't realize that we had such a unique place right under our feet in the middle of a city!
