Located along the Lockport section of the Erie Canal, this amazing underground boat ride is unique. Using a custom-built flat-bottom boat, visitors go on a half-mile trip through a man-made hydraulic raceway cut out of solid rock, the work of 19th-century genius Birdsill Holly— the man who gave the world the fire hydrant and zoned steam heat. Accompanied by a guide and trained operators, the 1 1/4-hour ride is thrilling and perfectly safe.

Sarah did a great job as a tour guide explaining the history of the canal in that area and telling us about the businesses that used to be there and how the cave was created. Glad that we came here definitely would come back again.
Enjoyed every minute of the whole tour.Well worth a visit You learn so much history. (There is a small short walk through a tunnel that may effect asthma sufferers). Well worth the experience.

This was great! We went on the Saturday before Halloween. It was interesting and I learned some unknown facts about Lockport. I’ll tell you, folks, Anthony was a hoot! I’ve never heard someone describe a poor soul’s untimely demise as a “splat”! ��

This is one of my favorite activities in WNY! I’ve prob gone 8 or 9 times, and tried the lantern tour last night! It was so fun! Great tour guide too! 🖤
Paige made our tour very enjoyable. And she was right... We all got "kissed" by the cave. Lol
We were looking for something for 3 families to do together and decided to give this place a try. Our guide was very engaging and knowledgeable. He answered everyone’s questions, kept the information going, but not too complex and was very funny and likable. I’ve lived here my whole life and this was my first time going. Everyone from the parents, to the teens, to the elementary aged kids with us had a great time! I will be telling more people about this place!!
We had an awesome tour of the caves and loved our tour guide Sarah!! What a great and entertaining tour guide. Highly recommended!
