Beware! I received a phone call after submitting my information for a refinance online. The first lender to call was Kumil with loanDepot. She was nice, but I felt rushed into something and was not confident in what was actually happening. LoanDepot charges for a credit check, but don't give them a card number unless your are set on completing the process that day, because they will then attempt to charge you for an appraisal fee without approval. I was attempting to purchase my first home with this lender. I was told by the loan officer, Marlene, that my DTI ratio was too high, so I withdrew my loan application Then she told me after I withdrew my application, she promised to get me approved as long as I followed her direction. I complied. She asked me to pay a certain amount on my existing line of credit to get my balance down. I did that. Then, I got a call and was told to come in and do a new loan application and I did. This is an excellent lender in my opinion. I just completed a refinancing of a vacation home with Loan Depot. I own 8 properties and am refinancing constantly. I was amazed at the rate I was able to obtain with Loan Depot and and how little it cost me. This is easily the best lender with which I have dealt in terms of rates, loan costs and knowledgeable personnel. I understood all of the loan documents and, when I had a question, I received an answer that was easy to follow and credible.

I closed yesterday, 19 days from my application for refi mortgage loan through LoanDepot. I worked with Joseph *** and Melissa ***** on my first (VA Mortgage) and rifi loan.
