After having a conversation and submitting my first application with the first loan officer I spoke with from LoanDepot he told me that I didn’t qualify for my loan because of my high DTI ratio, which I understood and ended the process with them. This was the worst experience I have ever had refinancing a mortgage. The underwriter kept asking for more and more proof of what I had already proven; income, assets, taxes, P and L, letters from my employers. He showed no understanding whatever of what I sent him. I became suspicious that he was just trying NOT to give me the loan because interest rates had gone up since I locked in my rate. Total waste of time. I tried doing a VA refinance, so far two months have passed and there is still no end in sight. The rate lock agreement has expired, and I was told I could get an extension if I agree to a 3/8 point increase in the interest rate. I'm moving on to hopefully a more competent lender.

Received 12 calls into days soliciting a refinance on our home. I politely informed the representative that we were no longer looking for refinancing options. I was then treated, harassed and told several times that I didn't know what I was doing and what was best for me, as they were the #2 refi bank in the country. I told them to stop calling and the harassment continued. It was aggravating, and then the operator informed me they would keep calling. My husband and I had a house built, started in 2013 and completed in 2014. We closed on our loan in 2014, our loan was sold off to another company, which I was told Loan Depot did not sell their loans, we refinanced our house in October/November of 2015. We have been on the bi-weekly schedule for payments, and paid extra each month towards the principal. So when our loan fell below the 80% mark, I requested that the PMI be cancelled. We were told NO, because our loan was not 2+ years old (total BS - I have never been told th... read more

I am thrilled with the outcome of our loan. LoanDepot was able to get us the money that we needed at a very good interest rate. The process was not the easiest, but the people at LoanDepot continued to work through different options for us, until we found the kind of loan that worked the best for us. I really felt that they cared about us, and wanted to help us improve our financial situation. I would definitely recommend LoanDepot to someone looking to mortgage or refinance.

A+ It was soooo easy doing our refi. Brett Payne was marvelous - clear and truthful in his explanations, available at any hour, even gave me his cell number. Carrie Paul was great, too. They both communicated and followed through responsibly. No pressure, completely effortless, signing edocs and submitting everything online. Appraiser and notary were fine and communicated in a timely fashion. Loved the experience and glad we have a lower rate and got our mortgage down to 15 years. Definitely would recommend.
