This company uses very aggressive and dishonest tactics and doesn't like customers that question things. I unfortunately entered into a loan application while I was renovating my house. A rate was locked in. From that point on it was pressure to get an appraisal and finish the loan with promises to refinance again later since I was a vet. I delayed as my gutters had been removed for painting the house. I was finally pressured into getting a "conditional" appraisal. No such thing. I went on a HUD website to get general information about government insured loan programs (FHA, VA, etc.). When I entered some personal information - my phone number - I immediately received an unsolicited call from LoanDepot where they gave me a hard sell on their company (which I could care less about). When I attempted to get some general information about HUD insured loans - if they participated in HUD programs - they dissembled and then attempted to get my DOB and SS#. I can not say enough wonderful things about Marcus from loan depot, from the first time we spoke it was crystal clear. I had been looking for a refinance company for about a year. From start to finish it took less than 30 days. Amazing experience. Stress free, did all of the leg work from my desk. Closing was a breeze; as they come to you. Loan Depot does not have it's customer's interest in hand. It's bottom line is it's only concern. I attempted to refinance through LD. The original representative was very nice and seemingly helpful. He provided me all my options based on my refinance goal (cash out for a remodel). After a month of providing paperwork and finalizing the loan, he said I was good to go and the amount I needed wouldn't be a problem. I signed the remodel agreement and placed my downpayment. Started a home loan with this company back in may 2018. All was going well until July 1st. I found a home and put an offer in which was excepted and sent the purchase and sales to my loan officer who’s name is Mike Brown. Never heard back from him or anyone else from Loandepot . When I called to inquire about the loan no one seemed to know anything. Since I was under contract to purchase this home I was forced to find another lender and am now paying a higher rate. because I am currently working with Loan Depot on a home loan and this whole process has been very stressful to say the least. First issue arose as I was working with Aubrey Locke, when I initially started working with him I was going with a straight FHA loan and I wanted to apply for down payment assistance, He advised me that I qualified for the down payment assistance and that everything was a go.
