I would not recommend LoanDepot for any type of mortgage services. I was looking to refinance, hoping to reduce my current payments. The initial contact was pleasant and was very hopeful. I was made to think that this was a piece of cake and not to worry that they will take care of everything. Another reason I went with this company was that they keep their mortgages and don't sell their loans to other mortgage companies. I received a call from Loan Depot where they received all my information, bank statements, equity in the house, tax statements, and they said there would be no problem with the loan for a re-mortgage. I received calls every day in which I gave them all they needed to proceed. the appraisal came in lower that anyone expected but I still had 750,000 equity in the home. finally I made a deal with the IRS to take the lien off my home to go through with the mortgage. after paying loan deposit approximately 700 dollars to go throu... read more

I cant fully Express the frustration I had with this company. There were options I wanted that did not have with my previous company, i.e. home equity line of credit. I spoke with an agent at loan depot and explained what all I was looking for. We went through everything to get refinanced and then I asked the agent before I finalized if everything looked like we would be able to do what we wanted as far as the line of credit and I was told they dont see a reason it wouldn't work but we had to finish the refinance first. High pressure sales! The "licensed loan officer" kept insisting he pull my credit before answering the most basic questions. I asked for his call back information so I could discuss with my wife. He would not give me his call back info and just kept asking to run my credit. I told him that I didn't like high pressure sales tactics and that I needed to speak with my wife and call him back. We sold our home to a buyer that had a pre-approval letter from Peter ********at The Loan Depot which stated "I have reviewed your income, assets, debt and credit history, and you are well qualified to purchase the home at XXXX, in XXXXXXXXXX, Illinois. This is based on a XX% loan to value, XX year fixed rate mortgage, at the prevailing interest rate. Loan Depot is a joke. Their customer service representatives are uninformed and unhelpful, and in order to sign up for online bill pay you have to sign access to your entire life away (including third party access to your social security number, state issued identification numbers, citizenship status and all previous background checks--this information is buried deep in their Terms Agreement). If I could do it again, I NEVER would go through this company. Avoid at all cost.

Just wanted to share that I have had a great experience with LoanDepot , my process started with them on 6.19.18 and my refinance w/cashout was complete 7.25.18. Scott ******was awesome and answered all of my questions, got me a great rate reading all these other reviews I can't believe we are talking about the same business.
