My 79 year old mother whose health was fading contacted loan depot to do a conventional mtg refinance to add me, her daughter, to the loan as a co borrower so I would be responsible for the mtg if she passes. Feels like you are batch product in the factory. The initial contact tends to be very nice. Sadly once the application is filled and submitted, it took 2.5 months for my loan to finally get approved and my case was pretty simple, a refinance with no observations whatsoever. Most of the times the senior account manager responded only ONCE per day at the end of the day and never responded calls. The production, processing manager and the lending office neither. The initial process went well, but the firm sought to force additional insurance on us, and refused to adhere to their terms of the contract. Customer service has been useless.

Our refinance took almost 3 months to complete. Their agents are ridiculously hard to get in touch with and not communicative. They made mistake after mistake with our loan: forgetting to include property taxes, sending the wrong documents to closing, having to close a second time, and constantly changing the closing disclosure documents without explanation. Go ANYWHERE else for your loan or refi.
