I dealt with a mortgage broker years ago whose company was bought by LoanDepot. So I agreed to go with them based on his reputation. I applied for and received a mortgage from LoanDepot a couple years ago. It was kind of a nightmare. Nobody, besides my broker seemed to know how to process loans. Poor communication! And now requiring flood insurance when we had clarified with the county that we were not in a flood zone and had this removed early in the loan process. Feels like a bait and switch since we told them we wouldn’t proceed if we needed the extra insurance (we didn’t need it with our previous mortgage).

Please don't work with this lender. They go back on their terms and closing costs (make false promises). They are also unresponsive. You have to do all the leg-work and hang on call for hours multiple times a week to get anything done. Terrible customer service and false promises is what you get here, unfortunately!

I applied for a refinance on my home loan, the loan officer said it looked good , I asked her the amount of the appraisal she had put down, told her that was to high. I told her what the amount of the appraisal would be , she said it should be ok. The appraisal came in right where I told her, she calls me says it’s to low. I said I told you what it would be , so I just wasted 495 dollars.
