I am have my mortgage serviced by LoanDepot currently. Since the rates dropped, I requested Loan Depot last year September to refinance and lower my interest rate. I got a loan estimate and agreed to proceed and submitted all the required documents and the loan went into processing last October. I only get status emails stating they are processing the loan. I wouldn't recommend LoanDepot. The whole process was very stressful and frustrating. It look a long time to close out my loan around 102 days. I've been very responsive and often provided all the information or documents within a few hours of them requesting. Despite this, they've been very poor with processing and communication. I've often had to follow up and call around multiple people to get any kind of update. Most often than not, I don't receive any response to my call/voicemail or emails. The whole process was a mess and they made me overpay (cash due on closing) on the day of the closing and later the CD (Closing Disclosure) was updated with a lower number that was due at the time of closing. I am still trying to figure out how to get the refund of the excess amount that I paid. The loan officer was horrible, never responded to multiple emails and voicemails. Chase was amazing, really responsive and worked through a ton of issues with me. Seemed like I was his only customer during a time when everyone is refinancing their homes. Goes along way about a company’s ethics to not just get your info and throw you to the curb. He performed magic getting me all the help I needed and stayed in touch makes the stress less during a pandemic. They understood me. They took time to listen, and respond. They were a great guide, but let me make decisions without pressure. The communication was great. I felt they did a very thorough job, and still maintained an understanding and caring of me and my mortgage needs, as opposed to a run-of-the-mill; You're just another number. I have a loan with Loandepot and everything has been fine until THEY decided I should refinance. The first person that called from the Loan Retention Department was told, by me, that I was not interested. Since then I have been bombarded with calls from this department. On 2/8/21 I received 5 calls, on 2/5/21, 4 and 3 calls on 2/4/21. This is on top of the daily calls, M-F for the past several weeks! The cost associated with the loan was too much and Loan Depot isn't flexible enough to accommodate its customers in terms of discounts and offers. It advertises that they offer low costs which is definitely not the case after talking to their reps. I give them zero out of 100 on a score rating.
